Şinasi Celayiroğlu
T. Şinasi Celayiroğlu was born in 1975 in
Ankara. He started playing acoustic guitar in
1990, later also concentrated on electric,
classical and fretless guitars. After graduating
from M.E.T.U. Sociology Dept., he engaged in
music full time and delivered numerous
performances in Ankara and in several other
provinces of Turkey. He played with many bands
as performance guitarist in a wide variety of
musical genres. He has been sharing his
systematic views on rhythmic - harmonic -
melodic analyses in various musical genres as a
tutor. He conducted graduate studies on
"Sociology of Music" in Hacettepe University,
Dept. of Sociology and participated in related
seminars as speaker. He is currently working as
jazz guitar instructor in Hacettepe University
Conservatory and playing guitar in Ankara
Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra.
He delivered live performances including his own
compositions in jazz festivals in Istanbul,
Ankara (4 times) and Eskişehir (4 times) with
Triotopia, Ida Terra, Oso Project, Şinasi
Celayiroğlu Quartet. In April 2012 he performed
concerts in Rotterdam and Amsterdam in "Turkey
Now" festival with RukenB and participated in
studio recordings of the band. With Hacettepe
University Jazz Department Band, he gave several
concerts at Kosovo Turkish Jazz Festival. He is
currently working on studio recordings of his
first solo album including his own compositions
and arrangements at Ankara ÇSM Studios to be
released by Mireille Music. |
