Gürcan Konanç
Gürcan Konanç was born in Samsun in 1966. He
began his musical career with a pair of
drumsticks that he had bought when he was a
teenager. While he was playing amateur drums in
a studio at Yenimahalle, Ankara, he stepped into
the professional life with an offer to play in a
bar. He also played drums with bands like Felix,
The Mood, The Gang. Meanwhile he developed
interest in jazz, especially the concept of
improvisation and started improving his
abilities in that field.
During 80’s and 90’s he played with many
musicians, bands in many projects such as studio
recordings, clubs, bars, concerts in different
genres like pop, rock, jazz, and folk. He also
gave lessons.
He is currently working professionally in music
in several genres, he is teaching in Ankara
Ankanom Music and organizing workshops and
master classes.

- GKG project (with Gökhan Yılmaz and Koray
Ergünay),
