Arda Baykurt
Drummer, Producer, Composer
Arda Baykurt was born in Ankara in 1975. He
started his music career at the age of 12 with
piano and harmony lessons. First gig was in 1990
with Dead Mosh Turkey's one of the first trash
metal bands. Until 1993 they performed with the
band in various venues in Turkey.
After 1993 he started playing with the local
bands of Ankara Rock and Blues style in the
times favorite clubs like Manhattan, Grafitti,
ABar, Tenedos and so on...
His passion was more into Latin and Jazz
drumming they set up the Retrofusion trio back
in 1995 with Koray
Ergunay and Gokhan
Yilmaz and done concerts and workshops with
the band.
Followed by many projects of Latin and Jazz like
Funkara, Upgrade, Paradox, Meditation.
After 1997 he was performing and recording with
Turkish pop stars such as Bengu, Hande Yener,
Gulsen , Yildiz Tilbe, Burcu Gunes and many
more... Also performed with his own projects
workshops and teaching.
1998 He was invited to Holland and thought drums
there. Performed many jazz festivals, TV Shows
and also was in Malta Eurovision qualifiers with
famous Maltese Rock Band "Scar".
Still recording drums and percussions in his own
studio and performing with various projects.
First album Skin Vibrations was released by CD
